Barracudas will be holding a Timing Night on Monday 25th November from 7-9pm.
This is a fun evening, open to ALL club swimmers, and new members are particularly encouraged to join in.
The evening is run like a gala but swimmers (who will swim with those of a similar standard) are aiming to improve their own performances and times.
Swimmers can enter up to 3 ‘events’ of their choice – 50m breaststroke, 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 50m freestyle and, for A swimmers only, 100m freestyle and Individual Medley.
We will end the evening with a giant relay involving all swimmers – please don’t disappear after your events but stay for the grand finale!
Timing nights are very popular with the swimmers but in order to make them a success we do need as many parents as possible to help out on the night.
(NO EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED but helpers should bring suitable footwear (eg flip-flops) and if possible wear a white top.)
Helpers and swimmers should arrive by 6.45pm. Please note that swimmers should be poolside and ready to warm up by 7pm.
Please confirm which strokes your child would like to swim – and if you can help out on the evening – to Kirsty Pemberton-Pigott (see email sent to all members) or to head coach, Sheila McFarlane, at the poolside.
Many thanks and we look forward to seeing you on Timing Night!
